Make English Work is an opportunity for parents in Brent to start learning or developing their English skills with a qualified ESOL Teacher. It’s also an opportunity for them to get help finding sustainable employment with the assistance of a Personal Consultant. The course has been designed and aimed at parents with levels of English ranging from beginners to entry 2/3 and helps them to not only develop their spoken English but their reading and writing skills too.
Depending on a clients level of English, they will either be given an opportunity to visit employers in their place of work to give them a taste of what a typical working day is like, or, they will participate on a 2 week work placement where they will be trained in many aspects of a business and given some responsibilities than those of a permanent member of staff.
The course is available to anyone living in Brent who is unemployed and who has recourse to public funds
